"I’ve had ongoing issues with my knees, and had several different treatments over the years, including injections. While these treatments provided relief initially, the pain eventually returned, and they were no longer effective. Fortunately, I had been a member of AXA Health for some time, so my knee was covered under my membership.

I contacted AXA Health and was told about their online muscles, bones and joints service that I had access to.

I wasn’t sure online physio would work for me but found the online platform straightforward to use. I was able to quickly book a video call with a physiotherapist within 48 hours, who listened carefully to my concerns and observed my knee movements.

Based on this assessment, I was given an online programme to follow, which included a variety of exercises with instructions to gradually increase repetitions over time. I was able to tick off completed exercises online, helping me track my progress.

After following my physiotherapy programme for about 3-4 weeks, I noticed a significant reduction in pain. I found this approach helpful in managing my symptoms, potentially reducing the need for further injections or surgery.

I enjoy trail running, and these exercises have been useful in managing flare-ups. The online service provided a convenient way to access care quickly.

I had very little confidence that online physiotherapy would help, but it did – and I’m now fully mobile, largely pain-free and running again.”
