How it works
Seamless onward journey
AXA Doctor at Hand integrates with your Advance corporate healthcare cover to bring a seamless onward journey for your workforce. If an employee needs to be referred to a specialist, there are two ways that they can choose to access care:
1. Referral letter directly sent to our specialist booking team
The GP or advanced clinical practitioner will send a referral to our specialist booking team. We verify the employee's cover and once confirmed, we can give them the details of up to three specialists to get in touch with when they're ready, or even book an appointment for them.
2. Access specialist assessments and support online
Your employees will complete an online clincial assessment and a specialist will aim to get back to them within three working days of their online assessment being completed.
They will receive an personalised report with results and can have a phone or video call if they would like to chat through the report or ask any questions. They can get support for digestive health, skin (dermatology), brain and nerves (neurology), bladder, kidney and waterworks (urology) and heart (cardiology).
Our online outpatient services are available to members to access treatment but are not part of the insured plan and are subject to change.

Availability – Subject to appointment availability
Prescriptions – Available in most circumstances. Outpatient prescriptions and deliveries are not covered by the plan and may cost more than on the NHS. Prescriptions are only available in the UK.
Referral for specialist consultations – Available when the appropriate benefits are on the corporate scheme. Any outpatient limits or excess will apply. All referrals and treatment recommended are on a private basis. The GPs and other registered clinical practitioners are unable to refer to the NHS.
