Online GP appointments that fit around you and your family
Our members can use our online GP service. Because when something’s up, you need someone with the expertise to help, who isn’t rushing you through a five-minute appointment.
Pick an available appointment – there are slots 24/7. So you can squeeze in an appointment before your morning run. Pop in a lunchtime video call. Chat when you get home from work.
- Video or phone appointments with a GP or Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
- Available 365 days a year (subject to appointment availability).
- Prescriptions made easy.
- This service is available to members aged 18 and over.
Children under age 18 and covered by the plan can also access the online GP service when their parent or guardian registers on their behalf.
With AXA Doctor at Hand, powered by Doctor Care Anywhere, you can select from a choice of appointments by video or phone, 365 days a year, with a
GP or Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
GPs are available 24 hours a day and Advance Clinical Practitioners are available from 8am-10pm (subject to appointment availability).

What about prescriptions?
If you need a prescription, the doctor will issue one on your AXA Doctor at Hand account – where you can choose to either collect from your local pharmacy or get delivered direct to your door.
These are private prescriptions, so you may need to pay more than a normal NHS fee, including delivery if selected. However, the clinician will always try and prescribe the most cost-effective medicine. Outpatient prescriptions and deliveries are not covered by the plan and prescriptions are only available in the UK.
