Muscles bones and joints team

Ciara Shevlin

Since graduating from UWE Bristol in 2010, I’ve specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I’ve worked internationally in the French Alps treating winter sports injuries and elsewhere treating water sports injuries mainly from windsurfing, sailing and waterskiing, before returning to London to work in busy private clinics and alongside orthopaedic consultants.

I joined AXA Health in Bristol in 2017, where I’m part of the muscle, bones and joints team. I’m passionate about women’s health and pelvic health.

I particularly enjoy educating women in midlife about how hormonal changes impact recovery and promoting physical health through this life stage. I’ve contributed to AXA Health’s International Women’s Day and have delivered talks to the AXA Health menopause community.

I truly believe that knowledge is power, and the world needs more powerful women.

Outside of work I have two young children, and love to exercise and play sport. Every week I run, lift weights, play tennis and have just started to play cricket with a local women’s cricket team! I also love to surf, snowboard, ski and windsurf whenever I get the chance.
