Health Assessment option
Even if your employees look and feel well, a health assessment can provide guidance so they can make small changes to feel even better and could prevent them developing health concerns in the future. So, it can be beneficial for both them and your business, to include this option on your business health insurance plan.*
*If an employee requires treatment following a health assessment, we may be able to provide this depending on the cover options and underwriting chosen with your plan. Your employee must check with us that they are covered for that particular medical condition.
How does it work?
- Each employee can get up to £350 towards a health assessment every year.
- Health assessments can include a consultation and a physical examination by a doctor or nurse.
Supporting your team's health and wellbeing
Maya is 43 and is the founder of a recruitment agency based in Norwich. She employs 15 people who have a hybrid working arrangement, spending half of their time in the office and half of their time working from home. Maya recently launched an employee wellbeing survey so she could identify any areas where she could help to improve the wellbeing of her team. A couple of her team members identified that they would like to have a health assessment to see if there are any ways that they could improve their health. Maya was then able to inform them as part of their health insurance plan, they had access to one health assessment a year up to the value of £350. Maya’s team members went ahead and booked a health assessment by a Care Quality Commission recognised provider, having already called us to check their cover.
What benefits are included as standard?
24/7 online GP service
Access to video or phone appointments with a GP or another registered clinical practitioner, where your employees will have plenty of time to talk through their health concerns. AXA Doctor at Hand is powered by Doctor Care Anywhere. Appointments are subject to availability. GPs are available 24/7 and other registered clinical practitioners are available 8am – 10pm.
Care for cancer and heart conditions
Our experienced healthcare professionals are available at the end of the phone day or night. Speak to our specialist cancer and heart nurses 9am-5pm Monday – Friday. Outside these hours our experienced nurses and counsellors provide round the clock support by phone.
Specialist appointment booking service
We can help your employees find an appropriate specialist. You'll need to include either an Outpatient option or our Diagnostics Only option with your business healthcare plan for the consultation to be covered.
Easing the pressure with physio
Access to our online muscles, bone and joint service to help your people manage or alleviate joint and muscle pain – whether it’s a bad back or sprained ankle. A physiotherapist will assess their symptoms online or over the phone and talk to them about what they could mean. Available for members aged 18 and over.
Health information and support
We’ll give your employees access to our 24/7 health support line. It comes as standard, no matter what cover options you choose, so your team can get help and support whether it's day or night.
The 24/7 health support line is not a diagnostic or advice service and it cannot respond to emergencies. If you require an urgent response or have a medical emergency please call 111/999 or attend A&E.
Access to gym discounts

What's not covered?
