Mental health
Life has its ups and downs. Being resilient can help you bounce back when things get tough.
Psychological resilience is the ability to bounce back when things get tough. It’s a skill we can learn and hone throughout life. It can help manage or even ward off conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and improve your mental health overall.
Resilience can also help offset factors that increase the risk of mental ill health. If you have an existing mental health condition, being resilient can lessen its impact and help you recognise when you need support.
Being resilient won't make your problems go away, but it can give you the ability to see past them, find enjoyment in life and better handle the bad times.
Learn about our five steps for building resilience from AXA Health's Clinical Lead for Mental Health Services, Dr Mark Winwood.
