AXA Health strengthens online healthcare offering with acquisition of HBSUK

  • AXA Health has announced the acquisition of Healthcare Business Solutions (UK) Limited (HBSUK) – a provider of online outpatient services, designed by specialists.
  • The acquisition continues AXA Health’s drive for consistent, safe, effective and appropriate care for members, as well as helping to ensure patients are seen quickly.
  • The move allows for an expansion of direct access to clinician care for AXA Health members.

AXA Health has announced the acquisition of HBSUK, an online outpatient service provider which helps to deliver safe and effective treatment in a fast and efficient way.

As one of the UK’s leading Private Medical Insurers (PMI), the acquisition of HBSUK demonstrates AXA Health’s commitment to providing excellent care to its PMI members and delivering demonstratable value. It will allow AXA Health members to continue to have fast access to the right care, first time.

HBSUK is one of a number of existing external service providers that AXA Health works with to offer consistent, safe and effective care for members in a quick and convenient way. AXA Health will build on the existing relationship and accelerate the development of the online muscles, bones and joints service, which achieves high levels of member satisfaction.

In the future, AXA Health intends to expand the services to allow more choice, flexibility and value. This will help to increase value for members, offer more accessible treatment and support the ambition to provide private healthcare solutions which meet a broader range of customer needs.

HBSUK also offers additional services which help support the NHS, such as out of hours on-site medical and clinical services to bolster service capacity. They are an approved NHS England provider and play a role in reducing wait times for the NHS.

“I’m delighted to welcome HBSUK colleagues to AXA and look forward to working together to continue to improve healthcare services for private and NHS patients.

“This exciting step forward for our business demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting people’s health and getting members faster access to the care they need, when they need it.

“Across AXA, we always aim to provide high quality products and cover, now and in the future, and using digital platforms such as this helps to create more effective services which supports our ambition.” Tara Foley, CEO, AXA UK&I

“We are delighted to join AXA Health as together we can accelerate the development of our services and support patients to have faster access to healthcare and create better patient outcomes across a wide range of specialisms. Continuing to deliver excellent service to patients served through the NHS remains a priority. We’re confident that together we’ll be able to improve health outcomes and are looking forward to the future and an exciting journey ahead with AXA Health.” Dave Mezher, CEO, HBSUK
