Explore flexible healthcare plans for small businesses

Investing for the future while managing your bottom line. It’s what makes you good at business. That’s why our flexible healthcare cover is designed to help you do both.

We offer two different plans - Business Health and Business Protect. Our Business Protect healthcare plans are great if you're looking to pay less - the main difference being that you and your employees will have access to less hospitals and specialists than you would with our Business Health healthcare plans.

As well as choosing either Business Protect or Business Health and the cover options that suit your budget, here are some other budget-friendly ways you can manage your plan.

Get covered for an average of £26 per employee, per month*

Did you know you can combine our 3 most popular cover options including
- Treatment with Comprehensive Cancer Cover
- Mental Health Cover and
- Therapies
with our cost-saving Guided option for an average of £26 per employee, per month?*
So, getting healthcare cover for your team doesn't have to break the budget.

*The above example is based on three employees (aged 25, 35 and 40), living in a TN2 postcode, with a £100 excess and a two year moratorium on pre-existing conditions. The example business have purchased our Business Health plan including Treatment with Cancer Cover, Therapies and Mental Health Cover options (over 50% of our customers chose these options in the last 6 months), plus our Guided option. The total cost for this Business Health plan is £76.62 per month, which is equivalent to £25.54 per employee. Costs are representative as of April 2024, and prices will vary depending on location, cover options and ages.

Ways to lower your costs

Here are some other ways you can look after your employees while still keeping an eye on your bottom line.

  • Pay up-front – save 5% by paying your subscription yearly instead of monthly.
  • Choose an excess – reduce your annual subscription with an excess of for example £100, £250 or £500 per employee.
  • Pay less for using specialists that we’ve sourced – if you choose the Business Health plan and include the Guided option (not available with the Extended Cover option) - book an appointment at a time and date that suits you. Any unauthorised treatment will not be covered.

Choose your underwriting options

You can also decide how you’ll cover your employees for any conditions they might have before they join us.  The underwriting you go for will affect the cost of your plan in different ways, depending on the options you’ve chosen.

  • Fully underwritten
This means that any pre-existing medical conditions that you or your team might have aren't covered. This option requires you and your employees to declare your medical history when you join.
  • Two-year moratorium
Any pre-existing medical conditions may be covered after two years continuous cover, provided you've been completely trouble free from advice, treatment or a special diet for at least a continuous year after joining. A pre-existing condition is any disease, injury or illness that you have received medication, advice or treatment for, or have experienced symptoms of, in the five years before the start of cover.
  • Continuing medical exclusions
If you're joining us from another private health insurance provider, you could continue any underwriting arrangements that you had with your previous provider across to your new plan. The rules and benefits of your new plan with AXA Health will apply.
  • Medical history disregarded
This underwriting option means that we could cover you and your team for pre-existing medical conditions, subject to your membership terms. This option is available if you're looking to cover 15 employees or more. With this option, we don't ask for medical history declarations from you and your team. Pre-existing conditions are accepted subject to the rules and benefits of the plan.
