At AXA Health we’ve imagined it all. It’s why we’ve developed our AXA Doctor at Hand service, powered by Doctor Care Anywhere.

  • With AXA Doctor at Hand, you and your team can speak to a GP by video or by phone, from anywhere in the world, day or night.
  • Appointments are usually available on the same day, often within a few hours, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.1
  • Say goodbye to rushed appointments – each one is up to 20 minutes long, giving your employees plenty of time to talk about their health concerns.
  • Just book online or use the app – there’s no limit to the appointments your team can make.2
  • The GP can provide a private specialist referral, if that’s what’s needed.3
  • If you need a prescription, you won’t have to visit a chemist – you can have your medication delivered straight to your door, or wherever you happen to be in the world.

And at the moment, If you have your GP appointment through the AXA Doctor at Hand service, we’re offering our members subsidised prescriptions, which means you’ll pay no more than the cost of a standard NHS prescription. You’ll need to pay the full prescription and delivery charge and then get reimbursed for costs above the £9.15 NHS charge. This subsidised prescription offer has now been extended until June 30th 2021.

We know how important it is for you and your people to be able to manage your health, so AXA Doctor at Hand is included regardless of the cover options that you choose. If you want the same freedom and flexibility with your face-to-face GP appointments, we’ve thought of that too – just select our Private GP option.

Once you’ve activated your AXA Doctor at Hand account you can just book an appointment online or through the app and you and your employees could be talking to a doctor within hours. You’ll have 20 minutes to chat by video or phone from wherever’s convenient for you.

You and your team can talk to a GP 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year (subject to availability). Everyone can now fit appointments around their work.

GP to specialist
Everything from diagnosis to referrals

All their doctors are experienced and registered with the General Medical Council. They’ll be able to discuss any problems you or your employees  have and recommend treatment. They can also arrange referrals to private specialists, and may be able to refer to diagnostic tests for some conditions.4

There’s no limit to the number of times you and your employees can use our online GP service, subject to appointment availability and the Doctor Care Anywhere fair usage policy. Everything you and your team needs is in one place, from booking your appointment and seeing a GP when it suits you, to having your specialist referral sent straight to our Fast Track Appointments team (you will need to have the Outpatient Option included in your plan for the specialist consultation to be covered).  And with your permission, Doctor Care Anywhere can share information with your regular GP, so they’re updated after each appointment.
