What is health insurance?
Private health insurance is a commitment to your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your loved ones. It provides fast access to private healthcare when you need it. You pay a monthly, or yearly, subscription and this covers the cost of treatment that you need, as long as it is covered by your plan. When adding children, an adult must be on the policy with them.
Like all insurance, our health plans are designed to cover new medical conditions that begin after you join. Whilst we’re unable to cover your pregnancy, we have a range of additional benefits to support you and your family.

A helping hand in the early days
Being a new parent can be a joyful but daunting time. Even if you've had a baby before, it can be hard to know if everything's as it should be. As a member you'll have access to a team of fully trained midwives to call if you need reassurance, through our health support and information line. Midwives are available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, until 4pm on Saturday, and until 12pm on Sunday.

Cover for your young ones
If your child has prominent ears or a birthmark on their face you could get these addressed* if these are a concern for you, so long as they have our Inpatient and day patient care option. Your child could also get access to up to six sessions of speech therapy if required due to a delay in their development* with our Outpatient and diagnosis care option.
*This cover is for children 14 and under. Your child must not have already had treatment for this condition or have planned or pending treatment.

Free cover for new arrivals
If you are an AXA Health member and have a new baby, your little one can have cover on your health insurance plan too. Give us a quick call to share your news and cover for your newborn will be free until your renewal date (restrictions and limits to cover may apply).

Supporting you, supporting them
We understand that you may want information you can trust as quickly as possible. Our 24/7 health support line is there for you day and night, just as you are there for your children. We also provide easy access to a wealth of health and wellbeing information online.

Support with family accommodation
We'll pay for one parent to stay with their child in hospital while they're having treatment they're covered for. If you are admitted to a private hospital then we'll also contribute towards the cost of hotel accommodation for a close relative or friend, to support you (up to £120 a night, up to £600 a year). The hospital treatment needs to be covered by your plan (not included with Out-patient diagnosis and care option).
Build your own plan - choose from four options to create the plan that’s right for you.
Our AXA Health Plan gives you the flexibility to combine care options to best suit your needs. You can even choose to have different care options for different people on your plan, giving you more control over your cover levels and the cost of your plan.
Standalone options include Outpatient diagnosis and care, Inpatient and day patient care and Cancer care.
Mental health care must be selected with one of the other care options. Inpatient and day patient care must be included when buying Cancer care and Outpatient diagnosis and care together.
As with most insurance, there are some things we don’t cover under any care option (you can find more information on exclusions below).

With an AXA Health Plan, if you are aged 18 or over, you get access to Everyday healthcare. Providing a range of services and tools, as well as access to offers, to help you stay happy and healthy.

With our 24/7 online GP service, you can select from a choice of appointments by video or phone with a GP or with an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. GPs are available 24 hours a day and Advanced Clinical Practitioners are available from 8am-10pm (subject to appointment availability).

What does our AXA Health Plan cover?
The treatment that’s covered will depend on the cover you choose – we offer a range of options so you can select what matters to you:
- Video or phone access to our online 24/7 GP service (subject to availability).
- 24/7 health support line with nurses, and 24/7 mental health support line with counsellors, available to answer your questions.
- See the right specialist quickly (when including the Outpatient diagnosis and care option).
- Full inpatient and day patient hospital fees cover (when including the Inpatient and day patient care option).
- Cancer cover and care (when including the Cancer care option).
What's not covered by our AXA Health Plan?
Like all insurance plans, there are some things we don't cover. Here are some of our key exclusions:
- Treatment or monitoring of ongoing, recurring and long-term conditions (chronic conditions)
- Routine pregnancy and childbirth
- Dental or optical treatment
- Some treatments, outpatient drugs and dressings.
- Pre-existing conditions, we only cover new conditions that develop after you join

Terms & Conditions - AXA Health voucher offer
Subject to these terms, when an individual (the “Customer”) purchases an Eligible Plan (as defined below) between 1st January 2026 to 31st March 2026 (the “Offer Period”), the Customer will be sent a £100 M&S, Amazon or John Lewis gift voucher (the “Gift”) via email, subject to availability. The terms ‘e-voucher’, ‘voucher’ and ‘e-gift card’ are also used in marketing communications to refer to the Gift.
The promoter of this offer is AXA PPP Healthcare Group Limited (registered number 03148346), whose registered office is at 20 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0BG (“we” or “us” or the “Promoter”). We are a service company to AXA Health (as defined below), and both companies are part of the AXA Group.
“AXA Group” means AXA UK Plc and its subsidiary companies, any holding company of AXA UK Plc and any subsidiary companies of such holding company, as such terms are defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006.
“AXA Health” means AXA PPP healthcare Limited.

For this offer to apply, the Customer must:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Purchase an Eligible Plan between the Offer Period;
- The Eligible Plan should have a minimum value of: (1) three hundred and forty pounds sterling (£340) per annum; or (2) thirty pounds sterling (£30) per month, gross of any other discount; and

The terms and conditions of the offer do not alter or vary the terms and conditions of any AXA policy which may be purchased.
If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
