10 February 2022

This smoothie is a great alternative to coffee for those looking to cut down, but still need a boost in the morning!

Nutritional highlights

Almond milk in the UK is typically added with extra vitamins and minerals. One vitamin that is typically added in is vitamin E, with this recipe giving us over half our daily required vitamin E. This is needed to keep our immune system running at its best. A mineral that gets added to almond milk is calcium which is very important for our bone health and for muscle contractions, with almond milk delivering half of our daily calcium intake alone!

Healthy swaps and tips

  • Use your favourite milk, whether that's regual cows milk or another milk alternative like oat milk.
  • You can always add in some extra fruit like blueberries or a frozen berry mix. If you do use a frozen mix there's no need to include ice cubes!
  • If you have over ripe bananas, freeze them and use them in your smoothie!
