Grilled garlic and chilli buttered corn on the cob

No BBQ is complete without a side serving of chargrilled corn on the cob. Try our take with its own homemade garlic and chilli butter.

Grilling corn not only fits the BBQ spirit, it also brings out the natural sweetness. Corn is packed full of valuable nutrients; vitamin C, folate, magnesium and potassium, to name a few. It also offers a source of fibre which helps protect our heart and manage a healthy gut.

Ingredients list

(Makes 4 servings)
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

  • 4 corn on the cob
  • 80g butter (dairy or vegan)
  • ½ garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1tsp of chilli flakes
  • Pinch of paprika
  • Ground black pepper, to taste


Pre heat the BBQ.

Wrap each corn on the cob in a layer of foil and place on the BBQ for 25-30 minutes, until tender. For a more charred effect, unwrap and place back on the BBQ until slightly charred.

Meanwhile, mash the butter, garlic, spring onions, chilli flakes, paprika and black pepper until thoroughly combined.

To serve, place the chargrilled corn on the cob on a plate whilst hot and spread over a small lump of the garlic and herb butter.

Top tips

Adjust the amount of chilli flakes according to your taste preference.
