This is a fantastic alternative to Easter eggs, as it combines a biscuit-like base, with low fat yoghurt and fresh fruit!
Compared to the usual chocolate treats over Easter these tarts are lower in calories, fat and saturated fat per 100g.
Being low in saturated fats helps to keep our cholesterol levels in check, as too much saturated fat in our diet can cause an increased cholesterol level which is associated with cardiovascular disease.
It is also low in salt which is important as too much salt can increase our blood pressure.

- 500g 0% fat Greek yoghurt
- 4 tbsp clear honey
- 500g oats
- 160g strawberries, chopped
- 1 banana, chopped
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 160g blueberries
- 160g grapes, halved
In a microwavable bowl, add half the Greek yoghurt, honey and vanilla extract. Microwave for 20 seconds on high and stir until smooth.
Take half the oats and blend until finely chopped and it resembles flour.
Add the other half of the oats to the Greek yoghurt mixture and stir. Then slowly add in a little of the oat flour until you get a mixture that can be formed into a crust.
Make 20 egg-shaped disks from the mixture onto the baking paper. Spread a layer of the remaining Greek yoghurt and top with a range of sliced fruit.
- Swap out half the oats for some oat flour.
- Why not get the kids involved in decorating and add your favourite fruits?
- You can pre-prepare the "eggs", but keep the yoghurt and the base separate as the yoghurt can make this soggy.
