4 June 2019

BBQ season is the perfect time to gather friends and family and showcase culinary talent. However, it doesn’t have to be complicated to provide great taste and wow your guests. These simple meat free skewers are a must have on BBQ’s this summer!

Nutritional highlights

Watermelon provides a refreshing element to any recipe, and who is to say that they don’t belong on a BBQ. This water dense fruit will keep hydration levels topped up through the (hopefully!) warm weather. Hlloumi cheese offers a great vegetarian protein source. Not only this, it’s high calcium content helps maintain healthy bones and teeth!

Ingredients list

(Makes 4 skewers)
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes

  • ½ a watermelon
  • 1 courgette
  • 1 red pepper

  • 1 pack halloumi, cut into 12 cubes

For the glaze
