Our policies cover cancellation of your trip if you contract COVID-19 and are unable to travel, and medical expenses should you be unfortunate enough to contract COVID-19 when you are travelling. This cover is available as long as you are travelling to a destination where there is no Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advice against travel at the time you depart on your trip. There is no cover for claims for cancellation otherwise related to the Coronavirus pandemic. This applies for any new policy purchased, or trip booked, after 9am on 14 March 2020.
Following identification of new variants of the virus, international travel from your area may be restricted because of domestic regulations.
Different rules apply in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Follow all the rules that apply to you Other countries have closed borders, and may restrict movement or bring in new quarantine rules with little warning. Check the FCDO advice on things to consider and be prepared to stay overseas longer than planned.

When you return, follow the rules to enter the UK from abroad (except from Ireland).
AXA Health policies won't cover you if you travel against the advice issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development office (FCDO). Please check the government and the FCDO website for the latest updates. The UK's new travel system for returning to the UK has come into force (4 October 2021) with countries and territories categorised as either red or the rest of the world.
You will not be covered for any event you were aware of when booking your holiday or purchasing your insurance, and there is no valid cover if you fail to provide the required tests and/or documentation required to travel e.g. a negative test result.
